4.27.23 InspireMSP Career Day

“If [students] can’t see it, they can’t be it. The [professional role] models out in our community are limited … There’s not anybody that they know who’s doing what they think they want to do.”

-Center for American Progress 2021 report

KARE11 Visit

Here is what we have in store

Overview: There are a wide range of creative jobs available, but these jobs may not be conducive to have our students tour their space. This day is about bringing those jobs to our students in an interactive way.

Arrival @ Pantages Theatre

Departure @ Target Center

Welcome

Upon arrival, your InspireMSP guide will meet your bus at State Theatre and will be your guide for the day.

Cohorts will check-in at the table in the lobby of the theatre.

Your InspireMSP Guide will help the group to your seats.

Opening Keynote

We are excited to welcome Karl Benson for our morning keynote at the State Theatre

The program will start at 10:10AM sharp.

Panel

Following the keynote, we will have a short break to stretch and welcome our panel to the stage.

  • Keith Morancie: Director, Owned Brand Strategic Planning, Target Corp.
  • Erica Brandon: Sr. Enterprise Styling Manager, Target Corp.
  • Bobby Rogers: Sr. Art Director- Multicultural, Target Corp.
  • Terri Stevens: Director, Visual Merchandise, Target Corp.
  • Twila Dang: Founder and CEO, Matriarch Digital Media

This isn’t a “talk-at-you” panel. We will have time for each panelist to provide context for who they are and what they do, but then will have a time for an open dialogue between our panel and our students.

Transition to the Target Center

Our students will be dismissed from the theatre and make their way to the Target Center.

Led by their guide, chaperones and students will be led along the streets of downtown Minneapolis on a 7 minute walk to the Target Center.

Breakout Sessions

Each cohort will be assigned a breakout session. Every session will be engaging, unique, and filled with insights from jobs we aren’t typically exposed to.

Some of our session leaders are:

Lunch
