Help bring the vibe to life

April 15th, 2024

We are finalizing the details, but the event will be held in the evening downtown Minneapolis right after our Creative Career Exposition. We need your help to develop the ideas, your hands to set everything in motion, and your oversight during the event.

Areas of interest

Below are the areas that we will need your help. When applying, please pick one of the areas below:

Lighting and Stage

Lighting sets the visual energy and vibe leading up to and during a fashion show. You will be working with a lighting and event specialist to help create the visual look of the event. Paint the color in the room by putting the lights together on the day-off. Lastly, you will work along side this person to execute on the idea.

LIKELY TIME REQUIREMENT:

  • Help to set-up and execute the event on 4/15 prior to the doors opening and through take-down.

Music

Music injects the life into the fashion, the room and pours out onto the red carpet to build anticipation. In this role, you will work with music professionals to create music before, during, and after the show. You will learn what needs to be done, where we look for inspiration and help to bring your influence into the process.

Social and Photography

Social media to promote an event and feeding people content during an event sets up the engagement for those that can attend and extends the engagement outside the show for those that can’t. In this role, you will partner up with a social media professional and photographer to do things like live stream the event, capture images from the runway, and promote the event prior to the day.

Red Carpet

A fashion show brings out everyone’s personal style. Who are they wearing, where did they get it, why are they there? We want our red carpet entrance to the event to be an experience in and of itself. In this role, you will work with an event professional to plan the red carpet and make sure that it is executed smoothly on event day.

  • Help to set-up and execute the event on 4/15/24 prior to the doors opening and through take-down.

Event host

A host is really important in keeping the energy consistent, positive and that people are having a great time. In this role, you will host our event along side a professional. You will help to tell the story of InspireMSP, the impact it is having, the fashion designs/designers, and more.

LIKELY TIME REQUIREMENT:

  • Initial video call with Event Professional (30-60 minutes)
  • Email some thoughts
  • Follow-up video meeting to review flow of the event and draft script (30-60 minutes)
  • Review and memorize lines prior to event
  • Event rehearsal
  • Attend the event on 4/15/24 arriving prior and staying through designated part.
  • This role may require some pre-event appearances for media etc.

Designer

This role will be hot! You will work one-on-one with Terri Stevens to style and create at least one full look. You will learn about the design process and spend some in-person time with Terri walking you through inspiration to completion of looks, shows, and the business behind fashion. You will have an opportunity to also build connections with the other designers featured in the show.

LIKELY TIME REQUIREMENT:

  • Initial video call with Designer (30-60 minutes)
  • Email some thoughts and agree on a schedule and when meetings will occur
  • Attend meetings (in-person or virtually) as agreed
  • Event rehearsal
  • Attend the event on 4/15/24 arriving prior and staying through designated part.
  • This role may require some pre-event appearances for media etc.

Hair and Make-up

In a fashion show, it’s not just about the awesome clothes – the magic of hairstylists and makeup artists is key. They work backstage to create amazing hairstyles and stunning makeup that match the designer’s vision. This role will work with creative experts who add the finishing touches, making sure the models look fabulous and bring the designer’s ideas to life on the runway.
